Wednesday April 8: 10 a.m.-12 noon. Cascade Falls. As river levels are rising this is developing into a spectacular display. The walk will go over the first trestle bridge, down to views of the Falls, and along the Trans Canada Trail to the Big Trestle Bridge. It's an easy trail walk with some uneven rocky trails at the falls. Carpooling is recommended, leaving the Ice Arena at 9:30 a.m. Dogs MUST be on leash for this one. Bring good hiking footwear, water and a snack. Dress for the weather and use tick repellent.
Sunday April 12: 1-3 p.m. Upstream trail at Stewart Creek. Join us for this new to Scenic Sunday forested trail hike near Christina Lake. The trailhead is about 4.5 kms up Stewart Creek Road. Park right after the cattle guard. Carpooling is recommended as space is limited; meet at the arena parking lot at 12:30 p.m. Use tick repellent, and dress for the weather, including cleats if days are wet and nights are below zero.
NOTE: Dogs are NOT recommended for this hike as the boardwalk slats pose a risk to their legs.
Dogs on leash welcome. Your safety is YOUR responsibility - Follow the ABCs: Assess your ability. Boots on feet and dress for the weather, including a hat. Carry water and a snack, and hiking poles if you have them.
