Saturday, June 5, is Trails Day in British Columbia, and the Grand
Forks Community Trails Society is hosting a family-friendly event at
Saddle Lake, starting at 1 p.m.
Join a guided hike (easy - about 30 mins) or moderate (about an hour)
and explore the many trails, discover wildlife and enjoy views.
Explore the birds, fish and frogs at Saddle Lake. Enter our photo
contest to win a membership - email your best photo (one entry per
person, any age) taken at the Saddle Lake Trails Day event to
firstname.lastname@example.org, or upload to the Grand Forks B.C.
Community Trails facebook page.
Wear sturdy walking shoes or boots as well as a hat, and bring bug
spray, water bottles, a snack, and sunscreen.
To get to Saddle Lake, head west out of Grand Forks on Highway 3, to
Reservoir Road, just past Rilkoff’s Store. Turn north on Reservoir,
and go past the Boundary Museum, continuing up the hill and around a
sharp corner. You’ll see Saddle Lake on the right, about 2.2 km from
the highway. Parking is in a field next to the lake. Note – there are
no washrooms at this site.
